The military has a complex demand for heavy loads. On the one hand, it is not possible for infantry on foot to bear too much weight. After all, it is not an ordinary civilian crossing, and it is necessary to persist in walking. It also needs to deal with various unexpected situations, have physical energy to engage in combat at any time, and carry dozens of kilograms of weapons. Therefore, the volume of infantry on foot is not too large, and the load is not high.
1. Structural differences
The vast majority of military backpacks use external shelves, while outdoor backpacks, given the current market situation, are all internal shelves. The difference is both literal and practical. The inner shelf bag refers to the bracket at the back of the backpack inside the bag, while the outer shelf bag refers to the bracket outside the bag, which is clearly visible. When the early processing technology was not mature, the outer frame bag once dominated the world. The main body of this backpack was actually an H-shaped, U-shaped, or mouth shaped metal frame, combined with one or several ordinary backpacks hanging on the frame, forming a similar backpack system.
2. Differences in materials
The early military outdoor bags were made of the same material: the canvas bracket was also made of the same material: metal. Nowadays, the military bags still adhere to the style of ordinary canvas and Oxford cloth, and due to the requirement of a large amount of load, the metal brackets are basically still intact. Outdoor bags are mostly made of lighter DuPont fabric (which is also the fabric of high-end military bags), and the brackets are mostly made of light metal, and some even use carbon fiber. There is also an ultra light backpack designed for high-altitude mountaineering, which uses lighter, thinner, and more sturdy materials to control the backpack's weight within two kilograms or even less. The weight of military bags is generally higher than that of outdoor bags.
3. Differences in details
Advanced military backpacks often have a quick release button design, making it convenient to quickly unload the backpack and launch a counterattack when encountering enemies. Of course, outdoor backpacks certainly do not have this requirement, so they do not have this button. However, some outdoor backpacks may have an additional whistle attached to their chest card, which is something that military backpacks have not seen before. The appearance of military backpacks is usually cleaner and more neat, without the miscellaneous extras on ordinary outdoor backpacks. However, this is not conducive to hanging hiking sticks, ice axes, spare shoes, outerwear, water bottles, etc. when we travel.... Hanging a lot of small things that we may use casually - always having to take off the backpack to open and retrieve them is very frustrating - wasting energy, not to mention, is itself a hassle. And there are often some things that are not easy to put into backpacks that need to be hacked.
4. Price difference
Domestic military bags: Outer frame bags, made of ordinary fabric and metal brackets, priced at over a hundred yuan. Outer frame bags, made of better fabric and metal brackets, range in price from a few hundred yuan to a thousand yuan. Foreign high-end military bags: both the inner and outer shelves are made of DuPont material with high-strength lightweight metal brackets, priced at several thousand yuan.
5. Differences in quality
The quality of military backpacks must be resistant to tension, with quality first and price second. Good quality backpacks can effectively protect the lives of soldiers. Civil backpacks are generally purchased with comparable quality and price, which is commonly referred to as having a higher cost performance ratio.
